Reliance Foundation Hospital gets threat call, Ambanis named; probe underway | Mumbai news
A call was received on a landline number of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in south Mumbai at 12.57pm pm Wednesday from an unknown number in which the caller threatened to blow up the hospital. Threats were also issued in name of some members of the Ambani family.
An FIR is being registered at DB Marg Police Station and further investigation into this matter is being done by the Mumbai Police, said the deputy commissioner of police (Zone 2), Nilotpal.
He said security has been increased at the hospital and the Ambani’s south Mumbai residence ‘Antilia’. The accused will be nabbed soon, the DCP added.
In August this year, a jeweler was arrested after he allegedly called up the hospital and threatened to kill industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family members.
In February 2021, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) loaded with explosives was found near ‘Antilia’. Later, some people, including the then-police officer Sachin Waze, were arrested in connection with the incident.
